Legal Nurse Consulting Ezine Writers Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in writing for the Legal Nurse Consulting Ezine. We are always looking for fresh ideas and information of interest to Certified Legal Nurse Consultantscm (CLNC®s). As to deadlines, our Ezine schedule is formulated far in advance. We will be glad to accept your article at any time and have it reviewed for future publication.
Please use the following guidelines to submit your article:
- Submit all articles in Word or WordPerfect. You can email your articles as an attached document to
feedback@LegalNurse.com.
-
Set the left and right, top and bottom page margins to 1". If these are not the default values your computer uses, please set them.
-
Give your article a title and your byline (author's name and credentials). Enter the article title flush left, not centered. Use Initial Capitals and Lower Case Letters, NOT ALL CAPS. That is, capitalize only the first letter of the first word and other important words.
INCORRECT: THE ROLE OF THE CLNC® IN PRODUCT LIABILITY
BY: Mary Smith, RN, BSN, CLNC
CORRECT:
The Role of the CLNC® in Product Liability
by Mary Smith, RN, BSN, CLNC
Leave a blank line below the byline and start the article.
- Include a brief, one-or-two sentence author bio at the end of the article. Your bio should include your name, credentials, your state, the name of your company (if any) and your areas of expertise as a legal nurse consultant. Note, we will edit the title, the article and the bio.
- Do not use oversized type, or some other fancy font. Use Times New Roman 12 cpi. You may emphasize a word or phrase in italic type or by bolding (for example, when using a foreign word, mentioning a book or magazine title, etc.). Please note that type treatment will be discretionary when we edit your article.
- Do not indent paragraphs. Instead, insert a blank line between paragraphs.
- Do not insert hard returns, except at the end of a paragraph or a short line of copy, such as a title, subhead or entry in a list.
- Put one space, not two, at the end of each sentence. (That is, hit the period or other punctuation mark, hit the space bar once, then start the next sentence.) Don't add extra spaces in the middle of a sentence.
- Let the page breaks happen where they occur automatically. Don't put in extra spacing or hard page breaks to change the pagination, unless doing so to keep a subhead with its first paragraph or to avoid breaking in the middle of a table.
- If you use subheads in your article, enter them flush left, bolded, in initial capitals and lower case letters. Put a blank line above and below each subhead.
- If you number the pages, put the page number at the bottom center. (You don't have to number the pages unless the article is more than three pages long.).
- Provide a word count of your article. This will go at the end of your article.
Example: [385 words]
- Finally, submit your article to
Leigh@LegalNurse.com
within the stated time period.
Follow these instructions and your article will look great. If you have any questions or if you need further guidance, don't hesitate to email feedback@LegalNurse.com or call 800.880.0944. Again, thank you for your cooperation and for your interest in being a contributor to our Legal Nurse Consulting Ezine. We look forward to receiving your article.
